Large Twine Balls

I've seen homemade twine balls all over the web.

The one that really caught my eye was this tuturial over at Domestically Speaking.

I wanted a piece of that action, but I wanted them to be MUCH bigger for a larger impact.
So instead of using regular balloons, I used those cool punching balloons for kids.

Then instead of soaking my twine in a glue/water mixture, I used just regular glue. It needed a tougher hold.
I wrapped it around my balloon...
Waited for it to dry....
and POP!
hehe...

I made two of them and stuck them up on my bookshelf.

Ya like?

Hey, there's that faux window that I was supposed to do something with. Yeah, I obviously still haven't figured out what I'm doing with it.
Oh well, one of these days I'll do something to it.

  2. Soak a bunch of twine in some glue, and start wrapping it around your balloon, trying to get it look as random as possible. Let it fully dry (around 24 hours) then pop your balloon!

  3. That is so neat. The whole look works so well.
